Steal Back Your Vote!

I thought for sure I had posted this weeks ago, but apparently I did not hit 'publish.'

I've done some comics for Greg Palast's Steal Back Your Vote! It's an educational comic book created to protect you from having your vote discounted this election. It's very informative, and as a bonus, I get to share the same pages as cartoonists Ted Rall and Lloyd Dangle, both of whom I have admired for years.

Please follow the link to the site to download your free copy of the book, here are two of the pages I contributed (written by Greg Palast and Bobby Kennedy).

Manifest Hope Gallery show in Denver

I'll be showing two pieces at the Manifest Hope Gallery in Denver next week. It's all part of something called the Democratic National Convention, which I'm told is a party or something.

You've seen this one below, but it always felt a little rushed to me (it was done on a very tight deadline), so I put in a few more hours on it for the show.

One of the key terms for the Obama campaign is change, so I came up with this to riff on that. It's gouache and my new favorite tool, ballpoint pen.

Anchorage Press 'Haiku You 2008' cover

Here's a cover for the Anchorage Press 'Haiku You' Haiku competion. I kind of just wanted to see a Japanese dragon in the Tlingit style, and the rest followed from there. There are also spot illos that go with some of the winning haiku poems. I'll post those in a bit.

Icon Motorsports 'Rockets Dead Glare' helmets

I do a lot of helmet designs for Icon motorsports, but I'm not usually allowed to show them to anyone until months to a year later. Here's one that I did a while back that had two different versions for boys and girls.

See this bike? Justin, Rob, and the other Icon guys pulled this sucker up in front of my house to present me with my copy of the helmet. You can't tell in the picture, but this baby has a wicked sound system with a sub woofer the size of a dinner plate under the seat, and HYDRAULICS. Yep, it bounces up and down like a mechanical bull.

They didn't bring the model in the shorts, though...
